Exotic Birds and Trekking in this New 2014 New Painting in Progress Trekking Tips and guidelines

Wishing everyone a Great new 2014!
sky view from forest

New year brings new excitement and  enjoying every bit of this journey of The Red Pilgrim as I continue to paint healing art...
Embracing the Chaos oil painting in progress on canvas
the painting of patience, Embracing the Chaos begun on 31st December 2013 and hope  to continue till end on this year 31st December 2014 is going on in very very patience, thoughtful simple strokes.
till date, there is a calculated selection of colors at the beginning, gold, red, green turquoise and orange! all strong colors that symbolize growth and happiness.
This is a healing symbolic painting to control the barging bombardment of  ideas, colors and paintings that come up in my mind, which never still.  So many ideas, so much to paint so much to write so little time!
Embracing the Chaos oil painting in progress on canvas
Trekking to Karnala Bird Sanctuary was a welcoming refreshing trip in the beginning of this 2014 year.
Climbing the fort is not an easy task and really not for simple trekkers. A birds paradise, Surrounded with thick growth the forest  has a uphill narrow man made path among rocks which trekkers enjoy. Rare Birds are really worth the trip and true bird lovers do visit the place before sunrise.
Not so much aware of bird names but I can identity the colors, blue , green and black red, exotic rare birds, its a haven for bird lovers. And with the series of exotic birds  paintings going in progress such trips make me wonder still, the paintings come first and then come the occasions, unlike where artists express that they were influenced by a trip or an image it is vice versa always with my art, I paint first by imagination and then things come forthe!

Some important practical tips for trekking-
1) Start early, trekking and climbing can be best enjoyed when you start early. And watching rare  birds in nature is  also only during the few early hours after sunrise. Winter seasons are good for such trips as there is less heat from the sun and climbing becomes easy, but also the days  are smaller, so be prepared for an early back trip.
 2) Shoes, very important, right soles, right fitting, right grip. Over the years we have come to understand the very importance of right shoes,  and heeled  sandals or slippers just wont do!Right size backpack to keep both hand free. Do not over load the back pack as this makes climbing and trekking difficult in small spaces of rocky areas.
3) Water and snacks, food, medicines in your backpack along with antiseptic cream, insect bites and dried tree scratches! immediately wash with clean water and apply cream for any scratches or insect bites.
Unless you are sweating do not drink much water. Take small sips only and do not gulp water in large quantities at one time.
4) Beware while walking and trekking in interiors of forest. creatures,  animals, birds, and creatures on the ground hidden among dried grass, unexpected falls while climbing and trekking, get the right firm grip. Look for footholds  first, shortest gaps among rocks, and then make small slow climb moves.
5) Inform your family or friends,  one who will look out for you when you go missing, when going on trekking trips. It is understood that most places in hilly and mountainous regions there is no mobile network.
Trekking brings you ultimate close to mountain strength, earth energy, grounding energy. Once there you are totally focused on which branch to catch or which rock to select as foothold. So when the basic instinct of survival comes up all negative energy is dissolved and mind becomes refreshed. It is very important for   every individual to be in close contact with earth and as today we are surrounded more with technology and electric vibrations it sure is worth to balance  energy, to have such contact with nature.
Go for trekking and climbing only when you are trained and fit, and have no major health problems, otherwise even walking is the best energiser.
So while we have still never completed the climb to the Panhalgad fort  , the top of the mountain peak we  know just when to stop and return  and call it a day!
The peacock bird sure was very happy to see us and truly showed his happiness! gave the best pose!

How to Make Fancy Artistic Paper Weights at Home Step by Step Making of eco friendly paper weights

Colorful Hand made  paper Weights
Paper weights are one thing which we all require, in office at our table to hold the papers in place as well as in our home office or near the telephone desk, paper weights are available in the usual glass round globes and the creative urge (of the red pilgrim), in the year 2000 with painting creatively furniture, trees and then came making of fancy paper weights.
Here  I share a few cherished ones that remain , antique pieces, I have packed and stored carefully,  beautiful,  colorful fancy eco friendly paper weights.
The traditional shapes in paper  weights, crystal colored glass  heavy round balls, look the same everywhere and there is often risk of the glass falling and breaking or chipping and also some one may accidentally get hurt , a child or a pet thinking of using this as a ball!
making creative colored and different shaped paper weights also makes them look attractive and unique but also serves  the purpose of holding the office desk neat, what more an eco friendly hand made paper weight, doing your bit for the environment.
Different shapes fancy paper weights for gifting
The process  to make paper weights is very easy and here I share simple tips  and guide to make fancy paper weights at home.
Hand made  office paper weights
1) Select moulds  of different shapes, preferable plastic or used cake ice cream cups , moulds of different gift items can also do if they are made of thin plastic.
2) Clean the moulds, dry them well, and arrange oil paints, and cement plaster of Paris mixture along with some glue.
3) Decorating your paper  weights can be done with any fancy materials, colorful cloth flowers, shiny sparkling different shapes mirrors, glitter, colored stones,  fancy buttons, silk, ribbons , plastic flowers or just about anything you wish to stick on to make  the paper weights unique and fancy.
4)  While making Hand made Paper weights , keep one thing in mind, the usable aspect.  Paper weights need to be a bit heavy so that they can serve your purpose and this I have tried with paper machie but the weights become too light and of  no use for the purpose.
5) Consider the size that is comfortable  to keep and use on your table. Very small paper weight or very big one will not look good. Size decided select the mould for pouring the ready mixture.
 6)  See that there  are no lumps formed  in the cement mixture or air bubbles while pouring in the mould. For getting a perfect shape of your wish this step is very important.

 7) In case you do not have a specific plastic mould you can also form a thick mixture of white cement  and mould it in abstract shape  and let it dry. Here as the mixture feels a bit firm add fancy gemstone, colored stones, plastic flowers, mirrors, colored beads, shiny wires,  or any fancy small tit bits so that they are firm and fit along with the mould of dried  mixture.
8) Once dried off well remove the mould or thin plastic can be cut off  to get a beautiful shaped fancy artwork. Trim off any abnormal extruding parts lightly and make clean shape.
9) Finally paint it using oil paints, first layer as base color, and then any patterns or designs in colorful shapes or floral prints. Cover this with a thin layer of protective varnish.

Color Therapy Abstract oil painting Understanding of Color Symbolism

Color therapy as the name suggests is using colors as healing symbols. Colors have their own meanings and symbolism since olden times and artists have very effectively used colors in paintings to express emotions, environments and beliefs.
Different colors represent emotions and objects with universal meanings and this is also influenced by the experiences of the individual and their cultural beliefs.
Color Therapy Oil painting on Oil Sketch paper
While  artists may look upon white as the most purest color representing peace and harmony, in many religions and cultures, in India,  it is considered the color of mourning where in widows wear white clothes. So also in other culture, Christianity, the bridal wear is a flowy satin lace gown of white color.
Thus color has its own interpretation and as for someone red may indicate danger another individual may call it a color of passion and love. Green with envy was such predominant in early ages and this color was almost avoided in apparels and upholstery, whereas today with feng shui color symbolism theory the color green has been on the top, representing growth and prosperity as for the green fields and vegetation.
The painting color therapy done in different techniques of painting with brush, objects, fingers, and this is a beautiful amalgamation of different chakra colors in this artwork that has loads of positive vibrant energy.
With the concept of Reiki violet fire which I have painted in many paintings, here again I use the purification violet purple fire as againast the backdrop of chakra colors. Also using the traditional fire flame making this painting  a combination of healing energies.
All in all a vibrant effect to the emotions and mind, giving a  message of healing to all chakras.
The oil painting color therapy is done in layering technique with over lapping steps as many of my other paintings and finally the emergence of the small colorful beautiful circles complete the process of healing.
A  trip by the sea, was fascinating and refreshing
On the personal front enjoyed a refreshing trip by the sea, it sure cleans your aura, the salt water air, except , you come back with sticky salty skin! Good news, unexpectedly, first time in my life, our fish orange guppy had tiny babies, life from such a tiny speck, except for the tingling specks in water it was difficult to see the lots of tiny babies in the fish tank, the photo is of when they were  one weeks old in separate fish bowl, here wishing them a great life! life is magical!

Inspired by Pablo Picasso Collection Honored to be Selected in Saatchi online Inspired by Picasso Collection.

Pure Luck by Rizwana Mundewadi
Inspired by Picasso Collection,Pablo Picasso, I am so honored to be a part of this prestigious online art collection compiled by Rebecca Wilson Director at Saatchi Art Gallery London for choosing my work, " Pure Luck White Chrysanthemums".
http://www.saatchionline.com/art-collection/Painting-Drawing-Mixed-Media/Inspired-by-Picasso/153961/23235/view
Pablo Picasso the father  of cubism, the first abstract art in form of cubism style. A visual language of squares representing an image. It is a fact that Picasso depicted three dimensional objects into a two dimensional but he never progressed to make total abstract works, so strong was his upbringing and thought processes ingrained in his psyche about figurative art.
He had brought a tremendous change into art after the impressionists and the fauvists .
Born October 25, 1881 Malaga Spain
Died April 8, 1973 Lougins France
Since childhood Pablo was fascinated with drawing geometric forms and shapes. He continued painting even without earning enough to support him form his art,  and Picasso "was the boy-genius who had grown disinterested in classical art"
The famous Blue period where all his works dominated with color blue. A more sentimental and emotional works brought forward this blue period and he was deeply affected by the death of his close friend Casagemas.A series of paintings depicting his emotional state of shock and depression, the blue period, after which began the pink period, the prominence of the color pink, the rose period which lasted till the end of cubist period.
"he simply enjoyed to imitate other artists, just like an actor, to occasionally emulate the styles of other artists,"
Cubism is not just an art style it marked the entry of a new style of abstract art by Picasso.
Picasso's the rose period is of greater importance in art history. Started 1904 a more optimistic style and positive brighter colors used in works during the Rose Period.
While the blue period depicts sorrow and mourning, the rose period depict acceptance and a life of its own. The art pieces became more abstract subjects and characters in his works could not be specified as a person.
He continued to explore expressionism combined with classicism along this rose period. The most expensive painting from May 2004 to June 2006 was "Boy with Pipe" The Harlequin period where picasso inspired by circus artists 19th century.  He continued to make figurative art but not keeping this as his prominent style.According to some he did "adapt his style to the wishes of his potential buyers, balancing artistic with commercial needs".
Picasso Black Period 1906 to 1907 where he was influenced by African art, a series of drawings, paintings and wood carvings.
One of the reason for Picasso interest in African Totem Art was the element of exorcism, he identified with. His friend Alice Toklas summed this up when she first saw "Demoiselles" as "painful and beautiful..and oppressive but imprisoned" which sums up how Picasso felt during the black period during which he was caught between commercial interests and artistic interests.
Picasso didn't so much faucet objects like Georges Braques, but used the geometry of Braques',to create an style that was pure abstract combined with Braques'cubism  style.

History of art continues with new artists entering this journey, the emerging ones  who  paint, express, combine styles or follow old masters, I have begun this beautiful journey unknowingly , what the future holds, what is the history behind selecting the  symbols, the , why do I love shapes, sacredness of the circle, royalness and representation of art and sacred geometry, feng shui and symbolism, color symbolism, representational art, expressionism, the total pure abstracts, My Green Tara,
My Green Tara Symbolic Figurative Canvas Painting
a figurative abstract painting, year 2012,   a deep pause, .......looking into the past helps so much to understand and with so many answers to the n number of questions and curious  exclamations in my mind and heart.
The journey continues to excite me , and enough creative inspirations to paint for, so much to  paint so little time! the mind is bombarded continuously with ideas, colors, longing for the fresh "fragrance" of oils and raw canvas, the most beautiful feeling in front of the bare canvas, a mystery to unfold...reading on Sufism, since the past year, maybe some fresh work inspired by Sufism would follow..I still don't know what and when the canvas will come to life  with vibrant energy!

While on this spiritual journey of The Red Pilgrim, as I continue to paint healing art...I wish to make simple colorful understandable art, art that heals.
