Studying different strokes and using water colors led to many floral paintings. the loading of brush and movement of the brush led to many discoveries in painting with water colours. I use less water when doing painting with water colours as the effect becomes too light and sometimes after drying the painting looks dull and flat. The year 2002, 2003 ans 2004 saw many paintings done using water colours on paper. The beautiful white blank paper and the flowy nature of water all came handy to study different strokes and abstracts in colours. Gradually the strokes changed into lines and forms and shapes. The study was tough as there are so many limitations to water colours along with the plus point of quick drying and light feel of water color works. The year 2000 and 2001 was of very hard and with effortless energy painting. water colour is not my favourite medium but I still tried my hand at this in my early years of discovery. My artists journey began with oil paints and I have also used wall paint for my first painting having fallen short of tube paint! 'The Hibiscus flowers' year 2000. Using water colour for painting was a challenge and though the paint flowed as any other medium I liked the thickness and solid feel of oil paints. the texture, the layering and the translucent form of this medium, oil paints, is what gives my paintings bright and fresh look.
