Portrait de Picasso, Google Wikipedia |
"Picasso showed a passion and a skill for drawing from
an early age. According to his mother, his first words were "piz,
piz", a shortening of lápiz, the Spanish word for
"pencil". From the age of seven, Picasso received formal
artistic training from his father in figure drawing and oil painting. Picasso
demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a
naturalistic manner through his childhood and adolescence. During the first
decade of the 20th century, his style changed as he experimented with different
theories, techniques, and ideas. His work is often categorized into periods.
While the names of many of his later periods are debated, the most commonly
accepted periods in his work are the Blue Period (1901–1904), the Rose Period (1904–1906), the African-influenced
Period (1907–1909), Analytic Cubism (1909–1912), and Synthetic Cubism (1912–1919),
also referred to as the Crystal period.

(all Picasso quotes from Google search)
"There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterwards you can remove all traces of reality. There is no danger then, anyway, because the idea of the object will have left an indelible mark" Pablo Picasso.
Pablo Picasso, YOU LIVE FOREVER with your thoughts, your quotes, your art! Happy Birthday Picasso!
The obsession with cubism, still comes up in my art since year 2000, yet strong influence and hold of healing power in art, symbolism, the power of words continues. Those small paper paintings had so much to tell, I have let go of many and some remain as assembled collages titled " a few years of my life" The shapes beautifully unfold, each one with a world of symbolism and meanings. Art and shapes have become so synonymous with my thoughts that when ever a subject for a painting is visualized a grid comes up. The grid has come from learning and following Reiki since past sixteen years , The golden grid attracts blessings from the universe and attracts wish fulfillment. This is a powerful square of life activating colours.

I read so much and have come up with this feng shui square of life healing art. spiritual cubism is so powerful with using shapes to symbolize elements energy and hidden meanings. as also making art emerged as a serious passion since then, year 2000.
I have thousands of small cubism artworks, many of which I have burned, the ritual takes place almost every year by October , November to burn some old paper paintings, damaged, clutter clearing, Feng Shui energy to welcome new ideas and new artworks.. Some are repainted as I wonder why they feel incomplete even after many years, they speak and communicate and repeated obsessive thoughts finally lead me to repaint or retouch the old paintings till finally the canvas rests! those precious cubism paintings, few are really interesting and painted innocently.
